April 13 2026 Board Meeting Highlights

Board approved adoption of the Carver policy governance model.

Approved terms of reference for multiple committees with amendments regarding consistent language and legal consultation requirements.

Established appointments committee to select 2027 board members with staggered terms to ensure continuity.

All current board members must reapply through the same selection process as new candidates.

Board Public members can only serve on select statutory committees as per terms of references. All other public members must be sourced from outside the board.

MLA exam achieved 100% pass rate; MLT programs showed approximately 80% pass rate

Education day topics will focus on AI in the laboratory, CSC implementation, and professional communications
